About

I am a Postdoctoral researcher at the Odum School of Ecology and the Center for Geospatial Research at the University of Georgia, Athens, GA. I earned my Ph.D. in Geoscience from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL, and completed my M.S. in Botany from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal.

My multidisciplinary academic background, along with professional and research experiences spanning various countries and environments, reflects my commitment to comprehending intricate relationships between humans and nature and contributing to solving problems for environmental sustainability.

With more than a decade of experience in independent and collaborative research, as well as involvement with non-profit organizations, I led or made major contributions to designing several projects, implementing them, and achieving successful outcomes. Importantly, I excel in both spatial and non-spatial data acquisition and engineering, statistical and geospatial analysis, modeling, machine learning, data visualization, and delivering presentations at conferences. My research has been published in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, and I have consistently utilized cutting-edge geospatial, statistical, and ecological tools in my work.

My key strengths lie in my aptitude for learning, adaptability, and interpersonal skills. As an international student in the United States, embarking on my Ph.D. in my late 30s with a decade-long gap since earning my MS, and managing family responsibilities that include a toddler, I effortlessly adapted to entirely new academic, professional, and social environments. I quickly acquired proficiency in state-of-the-art geospatial and statistical tools and techniques.
